Pediatric Hematologist

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo seeks a new junior to mid-career pediatric hematologist to join our established, vibrant, and dynamic clinical and research programs (Hematology/Oncology - Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences/University of Buffalo). 

Our ideal candidate will have interests in the care and management of patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, thromboses, immune cytopenias, and general nonmalignant hematology.  Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest.

Our program provides a unique environment with tremendous hematology resources provided across three outstanding institutions. Western New York Bloodcare is a federally designated hemophilia treatment center and a member of the New England Region of the Collaborative Regional Network of Hemophilia Treatment Centers; it is located in a newly opened state of the art center on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, which includes outpatient clinical facilities, on-site laboratory services, and a physical therapy suite including point-of-care ultrasound. It provides lifespan services for children and adults with hemophilia and other complex bleeding and thrombotic disorders.

Additional academic and clinical time is provided at the Roswell Park Oishei Children's Cancer and blood Disorders Program.  In-patient hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplantation services are located at Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo, a free-standing children's hospital part of Kaleida Health and the dedicated pediatric referral center for Buffalo & Western New York with new hospital facilities that opened in November 2017. Outpatient care is provided at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, a world-renowned state-of-the-art cancer care and research center.  Both Oishei Children's Hospital and Rosell Park serve as collaborative teaching hospitals for the University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.  The division has an active ACGME accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.  In addition, our clinical rpogram is designed specifically for hematologists with an interest in medical education as a recently approved Rosemary "Penny" Holmberg Hemostasis & Thrombosis Clinical Fellowship program has been established at Western New York Bloodcare in collaboration with the University of Buffalo and Roswell Park.
