Joan Fellowship in Pediatric Hemostasis-Thrombosis

Program Highlights:

We are a federally designated Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center that cares for approximately 1000 children with hemostasis-thrombosis problems each year. Our Pediatric Hemostasis-Thrombosis Services include:

  • AYA Women’s Hematology
  • ImmunoHematology
  • ECMO/VAD Programs
  • Liver Transplant Program
  • Hemophilia
  • Stroke
  • Thrombocytopenia
  • Thrombosis

Our extramurally funded physician-scientist faculty are focused full-time on hemostasis-thrombosis. Our affiliation with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides exposure to additional hemostasis-thrombosis faculty and unprecedented research facilities. The curriculum is tailored to matriculating fellows’ career goals: 50% Clinical (⅔ outpatient) and 50% Research. Elective opportunities include:

  • Clinical hemostasis reference laboratory
  • Hemostasis research laboratory
  • Vascular Medicine
  • Adult Hemophilia
  • Adult Thrombosis
  • Others

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be eligible/obtain an Ohio medical license
  • Completed Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or IM/ Pediatrics Residency
  • Completion of Pediatric or IM Hematology/ Oncology Fellowship (or fellowship in a HemostasisThrombosis related discipline) prior to matriculation
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatric or IM Hematology/Oncology (or related discipline)
  • If not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have a current J-1 or J-2 VISA
