The Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society (“HTRS”) and the Foundation for Women & Girls+ with Blood Disorders (“FWGBD”) are dedicated organizations that offer support, resources, and education to healthcare professionals and patients involved in bleeding and clotting disorders. Through joint membership offerings, they provide members with access to shared educational resources, events, and networking opportunities tailored to the unique needs of these communities. HTRS focuses on advancing research and treatment for hemostasis and thrombosis, while FWGBD concentrates on addressing the specific challenges women and girls face with blood disorders. Both organizations are committed to improving patient care and advancing knowledge in this critical area of health.
TRAINEE SUPPORT
HTRS and FWGBD are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders in bleeding and clotting disorder research by supporting early-stage investigators, particularly trainees. Through a joint effort, both organizations offer complimentary membership to students and trainees for the duration of their training, providing access to valuable resources, educational materials, and networking opportunities. Additionally, HTRS and FWGBD provide travel funding opportunities to their biennial conferences, allowing trainees to engage with top experts, present their research, and expand their professional networks. These travel grants aim to make conference attendance more accessible, fostering learning and collaboration that can shape the future of the field. By investing in trainee participation, HTRS and FWGBD are dedicated to empowering early-career professionals and advancing research in this specialized area of medicine.
FWGBD Mission
The Foundation for Women & Girls+ with Blood Disorders works to ensure all women and girls with blood disorders are correctly diagnosed and optimally managed at every life stage. FWGBD:
- Raises awareness and educates key healthcare professionals
- Translates and disseminates information and research
- Nurtures future healthcare leaders
- Fosters collaboration and generates knowledge among core disciplines
