Committees: The Backbone of HTRS
For years, committees have served as a driving force behind HTRS’s growth—supporting day-to-day operations, guiding strategic initiatives, and planning meaningful events for our members.
What Are HTRS Committees?
HTRS committees advance both the Society and the broader hemostasis and thrombosis (H&T) community. Each committee plays a distinct role in carrying out our strategic plan and operates under the guidance of the HTRS Board of Directors, in accordance with the Society's Bylaws.
All HTRS committees are made up of dedicated volunteer members who help shape the direction and impact of our work.
HTRS has two types of committees - Governance/Administrative and Program Planning Committees.
Governance/Administrative
- Executive Committee: Assist the Board of Directors in the orderly and fair governance of HTRS by, among other things, acting on behalf of the Board within the scope of the Committee’s authority and overseeing the functions, operations, and activities of the Board and its committees.
- Finance Committee: Provide financial oversight for the organization, including budgeting and financial planning, reporting, and the creation/monitoring of internal financial controls and accountabilities
- Publications Committee: Publish mentored research articles in HTRS-affiliated professional journals
Planning Committees
- Awards Programs Council: Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of all HTRS Awards Programs
- Clinical Fellows Network Council: Promote networking, career development, and educational programs for and among medical trainees
- ConECCTOR Network Council: Promote networking, career development, and research collaboration for and among junior faculty
- Research Colloquium Planning Committee: Oversee program development and faculty invitations (event held every other year pre-HTRS)
- Scientific Symposium Planning Committee: Plan and host the HTRS Scientific Symposium
- SEARCH Workshop Planning Committee: Plan and host the HTRS Research Colloquium for early-stage investigators (ESIs - physician scientists or discovery-based scientists) working to build sustainable research careers in hemostasis and thrombosis
- Trainee Workshop Planning Committee: Coordinate two HTRS Trainee Workshops annually for 30 attendees each (pre-HTRS or pre-THSNA, pre-ASH)
