“Improving Shared Decision Making in Hemophilia: Visiting Professorship Program”
Are you planning an educational session and need expert faculty? Through this initiative, clinicians, physician-scientists, and multidisciplinary care teams at recipient organizations can host and coordinate a customized medical education program led by a highly respected Visiting Professor. The Visiting Professor will be chosen based on specific expertise within shared decision making (SDM) and emerging therapeutic options in hemophilia, with the goal of addressing unmet educational needs at your institution or within your community.
This flexible funding mechanism—providing up to $7,000 per meeting—can support a wide range of educational activities, such as:
- Team-Based Clinical Education Sessions for hematologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, and other HTC staff
- Internal Research Symposia or Case-Based Conferences at academic medical centers, featuring in-depth presentations on SDM strategies and novel therapies
- Educational Sessions at Regional Meetings hosted by Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs), bringing together providers and staff for updates on patient-centered care and evolving treatment landscapes
- Institutional Grand Rounds or Visiting Lectureships focused on advancing shared decision making among physicians, trainees, and allied healthcare professionals
- Medical School or Residency Curriculum Enhancements, such as hands-on workshops or expert-led seminars aimed at early-career practitioners
- Community Education Sessions that include patient or caregiver components to amplify SDM and empower shared treatment planning
- Protocol Review or QI Project Discussions to help organizations align clinical practice with the latest evidence and patient engagement strategies
Whether you’re designing a single-session event or an ongoing series, this grant can bring top expertise to your clinical or academic setting.
