Dr. Gowthami Arepally is Professor of Medicine and Vice Chief of Research in the Division of Hematology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Arepally received her M.D. from Vanderbilt University, completed residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University where she was Chief Medical Resident and finished subspecialty training in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests are focused on immune thrombocytopenia, including heparin-induce thrombocytopenia (HIT), immune thrombocytopenia and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. Dr. Arepally’s long-standing research program investigates immunoregulatory mechanisms and mechanisms of thrombosis in HIT.
