HTRS 2027 Abstract Submissions
Share your original clinical, discovery-based, or translational research in hemostasis and thrombosis at the HTRS 2027 Scientific Symposium.

Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET
Only online submissions received through the HTRS Abstract Submission Portal by the deadline will be accepted.
HTRS will not accept late-breaking abstracts for this meeting.
Abstract Submission
HTRS invites abstract submissions related to the clinical care and research of hemostasis and thrombosis disorders. Submissions are encouraged from a diverse array of professionals, including:
- Physician scientists working in academic medicine or industry
- Discovery-based scientists working in academic medicine or industry
- Trainees, including students and medical residents or fellows
- Advanced Practice Providers, including:
- Physician Assistants
- Nurse Practitioners
- Certified Nurse Midwives
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
- Allied Health Professionals working in or supporting hemostasis and thrombosis clinical care and/or research, including those with an interest in advancing research in classical hematology:
- Nurses
- Pharmacists (PharmD)
- Physical Therapists
- Medical Laboratory Scientist and other Laboratory Professionals
- Genetic Counselors
- Social Workers
- Other related professionals
- Coagulation Laboratory Professionals and Technicians
Presentation and Publication
Authors of accepted abstracts may be invited to present their abstracts as oral or poster presentations during the meeting.
Accepted abstracts will be published in Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis (RPTH), the open access journal of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
Authors of accepted abstracts who later write a manuscript reporting their research are highly encouraged to submit their article to RPTH.
The HTRS Board of Directors and the HTRS 2027 Scientific Symposium Planning Committee are committed to providing an inclusive platform for scientific exchange and professional education. HTRS welcomes submissions reflecting the dynamic and varied backgrounds, expertise, and research interests of the hemostasis and thrombosis community.
Submission Deadline
- Abstracts for HTRS 2027 are due Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
- Abstracts cannot be revised or resubmitted after the deadline.
- Only online submissions through the HTRS Abstract Submission Portal will be accepted.
- Accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Authors may make corrections or updates to their posters after the abstract submission deadline, but not to the abstracts themselves.
- HTRS will not accept late-breaking abstracts for this meeting.
- The submission link will be deactivated after Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 12:00 AM ET.
HTRS 2027 Travel Awards
Up to twelve Travel Awards will be offered in 2027 to presenting authors of exceptional abstracts submitted by trainees, early-career investigators, underrepresented minorities, advanced practice providers, and North American presenters outside the United States.
Abstract reviewers will select Travel Award recipients’ abstracts for oral or poster presentation.
Travel Award Details
Travel Expenses
Airfare, ground transportation, and travel-day meal expenses up to a total of $750 USD.
Hotel Accommodations
Two nights of hotel accommodations sponsored by HTRS.
Meeting Registration
Waived HTRS 2027 meeting registration fees.
Networking Opportunity
Presenting authors will be invited to moderate a roundtable discussion during the “Best of HTRS 2027” Networking Event.
Only one Travel Award per person is allowed.
Travel Award Categories
- Up to seven awards will be given to first authors of the highest-scoring abstracts submitted by trainees or early-career investigators working at non-commercial institutions.
- Up to two awards will be given to first authors of abstracts submitted by advanced practice providers or allied health professionals at any stage in their careers who work at non-commercial institutions.
- Up to two awards will be given to first authors of abstracts submitted by undergraduate students at any stage in their careers who work at non-commercial institutions.
- Up to one award will be given to the first author of an abstract submitted by an investigator at any career stage from North America or Central America who works at a non-commercial institution.
Oral Presentations for Travel Award Recipients
- HTRS abstract reviewers will select abstracts from Travel Award recipients for presentation during one of the oral abstract sessions at the meeting.
- Travel Award recipients selected for oral presentation must be the first author of the abstract.
- Presenting authors will have a maximum of 10 minutes for their presentation, followed immediately by 5 minutes for questions and answers.
- Details regarding oral abstract presentations and instructions for preparing slides will be provided to presenting authors in December 2026, along with instructions for poster presentations.
- Abstracts selected for oral presentation may also be presented as posters during the meeting.
