Program Highlights
We are a federally designated Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center that cares for approximately 1000 children with hemostasis-thrombosis problems each year. Our Pediatric Hemostasis-Thrombosis Services include:
• AYA Women’s Hematology
• Hemophilia
• ImmunoHematology
• Stroke
• ECMO/VAD Programs
• Thrombocytopenia
• Liver Transplant Program
• Thrombosis
Our extramurally funded physician-scientist faculty are focused full-time on hemostasis-thrombosis. Our affiliation with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides exposure to additional hemostasis-thrombosis faculty and unprecedented research facilities. The curriculum is tailored to matriculating fellows’ career goals: 50% Clinical (⅔ outpatient) and 50% Research. Elective opportunities include:

• Vascular Medicine
• Adult Hemophilia
• Adult Thrombosis
• Others
Named to the Top 10 Honor Roll on U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-23 list of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of America’s largest not-for-profit free-standing pediatric health care systems. The Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of the Top 10 National Institutes of Health-funded free-standing pediatric research facilities.
Potential Candidates/ Requirements
• Must be eligible/obtain an Ohio medical license
• Completed Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or “IM”/Pediatrics Residency
• Completion of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship (or fellowship in a Hemostasis-Thrombosis-related discipline) prior to matriculation
• Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (or related discipline) prior to matriculation
• If not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have a current J-1 or J-2 VISA
• Pediatric or IM sub-specialties with interest in Hemostasis-Thrombosis
