New Committees Announced - Calling for Volunteers
HTRS is inviting you to help shape what’s next. HTRS is forming two new committees: the Membership Committee and the Advanced Practice Providers (APP)/Allied Health Professionals Committee. These additions will play an important role in advancing our mission and strengthening engagement across the HTRS community
What are HTRS Committees?
HTRS committees are made up of dedicated volunteer members working under the direction of the HTRS Board of Directors. They play a vital role in advancing the Society’s mission and carrying out our strategic plan—whether through governance, research, education, or event planning.
HTRS APP & Allied Health Professionals Committee
HTRS is establishing a standing Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) & Allied Health Professionals Committee for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and all other APP or allied health professionals. This committee will provide a formal, year-round mechanism for engagement, professional development, and representation, with the goal of including at least one representative from each role.
Serving as both a membership and advisory group, the committee will:
- Identify the educational, mentorship, and networking needs unique to non-physician clinicians
- Collaborate with other HTRS committees to shape relevant programming and targeted learning opportunities
- Expand access to mentorship and professional growth for those entering or advancing in hematology practice
- Strengthen inclusivity across HTRS events, publications, and leadership pipelines
Ultimately, this committee will reinforce the HTRS mission to advance care, education, and research in hemostasis and thrombosis by formally integrating APPs and allied health professionals into the Society’s leadership and programming. Their inclusion promotes a more comprehensive, team-based approach to patient care and helps build a sustainable, multidisciplinary network that reflects the realities of today’s clinical practice.
The committee will maintain a representative liaison to the APP/Allied Health Sub-Committee of the HTRS 2027 Scientific Symposium and will assist in identifying a qualified individual to serve as the appointed APP/Allied Health Representative on the HTRS Board of Directors, ensuring consistent communication and leadership representation across the organization.
Not an APP or Allied Health Professional but know someone who would be a great fit for the committee? Nominate a colleague!

- One (1) Clinical Fellows Network Liaison
