Barbara C. Furie, PhD

Barbara C. Furie, PhD, is Professor of Emeritus at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of Hemostasis and Thrombosis at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She established her joint laboratory with her husband, Dr. Bruce Furie, at New England Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine in 1975.

A remarkable scientist, leader, role model and mentor, Furie earned the HTRS Dr. Joan Cox Gill Service Award in 2023 for her lasting and extraordinary contributions to the field of hemostasis and thrombosis.
